The AXi 2217/20 Short-shaft motor including prop adaptor has a shortened 3.17mm shaft and 600mm motor wires to assist with mounting in multi-rotor copters such as the Droidworx AD4, CX4 and similar craft. This motor also includes the prop adaptor.
Recommended for use with good quality propellers such as the APC 10×4.7 and 11×4.7 slow-fly or Graupner 10×5 and 11×5 Elektro propellers. Do not use a propeller saver! The 2217/20 has 14 poles.
The existing radial mount sets (RMS22) are still compatible with the AXi 2217/20 short-shaft motor. A 5mm radial prop driver is included with this motor.
For heavy-lift copters, we recommend the AXi 2814/22.

I purchased 6 AXi 2217/20 Short Shaft motors for a DroidWorx AD-6 Hexacopter build. I chose AXi because I want a reliable motor and minimal vibration, to allow for good aerial photos. In the past I have used Turnigy, Scorpion and Avroto motors.
Shipping to Australia was unbelievably fast. 1 week. When I opened up the boxes I found the motors to be extremely well built, exceptionally powerful for their small size and are maintenance-free, provided that you dont fly in very dusty or wet environments.
The Short Shaft version is excellent for multi-rotors, with long wires to reach through the boom of the copter to your power distribution and ESCs. Provides for a nice clean build without the need to mount your ESCs out on the boom.
The only thing I dislike about AXi is that Model Motors sell the motor mount kit seperate to the motor, so the true cost for each motor is about 10 quid greater than the listing. For a premium motor it would be nice to see these low cost parts thrown into the package.
I'm very happy with the AXi 2217/20 short Shaft and would recommend them to anyone who doesnt mind a premium cost for a exceptionally well built and very capable motor.
