The ANR26650M1 from A123 Systems is a single cell of LiFePO4 chemistry weighing 70g and offering greater resilience over standard lithium polymer cells. The dimensions of each cell are 26mm x 66.5mm. Please refer to the technical specification sheet below for full details. These are genuine cells from A123 Systems with solder-tabs. A123 policy does not allow us to purchase or supply loose cells without solder tabs.
These are dev kit cells with solder tabs on each end of the cell. The cells support a 30C continuous discharge and 60C burst/pulse discharge. (69 amps continuous, 138 amps burst). Full specifications and joining instructions can be found in the technical specification sheet below.
Handling Precautions
– Do not short circuit. These cells are capable of very high discharge currents.
– Do not rotate the negative tab (cap) relative to the can as this can cause internal cell damage.
– NB: The can is the positive terminal and the cap is the negative terminal.
When joining cells together
These cells are shipped at 50% SoC (State of charge). All cells to be joined together within the same string must be at the same capacity. If not the string will be unbalanced, which can cause cell damage or reduction in capacity. If the SoC is unknown, it is recommended to fully charge each cell to 100% before building them into a string.
The maximum recommended cell temperature is 70°C. Do not allow cells to exceed this temperature during charge, discharge or storage.
The allowable storage temperature is -50°C to +60°C.
