The ZTW Mantis Slim electronic speed controllers are a new range of ESCs designed for light-weight planes and powered gliders. These brushless controllers boast diminutive sizes and a powerful onboard switching BEC for servo and receiver power.
This new 15 amp unit really must be seen, coming in around the same size as the tiny speed controllers we have seen in recent years developed for mini racing drones, which usually do not even have an onboard BEC at all. This makes them perfect for mounting in small indoor models where they can be neatly tucked away to reduce drag or for small and fast models where they can be kept cool on the surface of the airplane without being detrimental to the centre of gravity or the appearance of the model.
The Mantis Slim 15A measures just 27×14x5.5mm and weighs only 6.8g. The motor and power wires are all 20AWG wire with bare ends for your to use your own connectors or solder directly. The signal/BEC wire is terminated with the typical JR/Universal style servo connector, compatible with the vast majority of receivers.
Programmable via your transmitter or the optional Air programming card.

light, small and perfect

Came with my click power set. Seems to work fine although I did initially fall foul of the subtle startup procedure which ensures that the ESC knows your throttle endpoint. It is very small and very light! Will not hesitate to buy more and will be upgrading the ones in a couple other foamies when the time comes.
