SunnySky X2814-III 1000kv Brushless Motor

New X2814-III brushless outrunner motor from SunnySky. It includes mounting cross and prop driver and can be mounted either front or reverse depending on the requirements of your model plane. This is the 1000kv variant and is suitable for aerobatic models up to a maximum of 1400 grams or 49 ounces, or 3D model aeroplanes up to about 1kg or 35 ounces on 3-4s batteries. It weighs 113 grams. A 40-60A speed controller is recommended such as the ZTW Mantis Slim 40A or similar. The internal shaft is 4mm.

Recommended propellers for this motor are APC 11×5.5, 12×6, 12×8 and 13×6.5. The maximum load supported by the motor is approximately 55 amps for 30 seconds, depending on ambient temperature.

Our preferred setup with this motor is in planes like the Veloxity or Edge 540 XL from Twisted Hobbys with a 12×6 propeller and the aforementioned Mantis Slim 40 ESC on 3s. This combination will provide around 2kg of thrust at full throttle. An alternative setup is the same 3s on a 13×6.5 propeller, which can give slightly higher thrust and efficiency but gets much warmer at full throttle. Depending on your flying style you may prefer the 13 inch propeller.
